Been doing some nickel coin roll hunting as always, but I was wondering what to keep. Out of 24 dollars in nickels I got:

    1956-D nickel

    1958-D nickel

    1948-D nickel

    They grade roughly F-12 - VF20

So most of the pre 1959 nickels I keep since there not modern, just like wheat cents, but honestly Is it worth it? What I do is I stick it into a 2x2 cause I dont know a better place o keep non modern nickels. Is this what Im supposed to do? Or do I not keep 50's nickels?

oops I posted it in the coin chat not the coin roll hunting thread. Mod help.

Personally I keep all of the obvious Nickels and also any pre 1960 ones as well. I save the War Nickels for myself and sell any others. Depending on the quality and years of a Buffalo or a Liberty Nickel will detemine what I get them them. I have been lucky so far and have sold a few lots of circulated pre 1960 Nickels for an average of about .09 a coin. Not a lot of money, but a profit none the less.

I wont keep the 1959's since there not modern, but that's just me. So is it a good idea to pop one in a 2x2 and just leave it there? Im not planning on selling them till I get hundreds and I dont have enough space, but till then is what I;m doing okay?
i have no easy way of selling coins at all, So ebay is the way too go if I have a large enough lot that makes sense.

Who is to tell you what to do with your hobby? If you want to save them great, if you don't want to well that is great as well.

I mean economically are they worth a premium at all? In circulated condition that is. If not which are the ones worth keeping?

The ones I would sell because I expect a premuim would be any 1938-39 and the 1950D. Any of the others that show a good amount of circulation I have gotten about .09 per coin in lots. Obviously if you have ones that are AU or BU they will bring some what of a premium over the circulated ones especially if they have full steps showing on the reverse.
