    Best pick up point for the two reverses in 1939 is the S in pluribus. On the reverse of 38 it will be rounded, on the reverse of 40 it has a serif. Works down to the lowest grade well after the steps are worn away.

    The war nickel also has lamination cracks across the base of the bust on the right side.
