Image190.jpg This is a great looking 1945-D Silver war nickel, but it appears to have a lamination error. Does this effect the numismatic value of the coin ?

Problems with the metal mix and resulting delamination of planchets is relatively common on "War Nickels" so as an error, they are not that hard to find.

That being said, if someone wants a nice War Nickel for a set, the lamination (delamination) error hurts the value of the coin. For a collector of errors, it may increase the value of the coin.

So, the value changes depending upon who is looking at the coin:)

Definitely have to agree with Foundinrolls........I care nothing for errors and would want a pristine, clear example......however, I could see the 'error' guy just lovin' something like what you gots there Dave. :)
