my friends brother found a jefferson nickel in a roll ( he works in a bank) we dont know what year it is because its completely struck through on the obverse. there is a ghosting of jefferson. the reverse has what appears to be full steps ( no magnification, i stared though for several minutes).
theres a few contant marks on both sides and what im not sure is either a contact mark or a scratch ( prob contact from new roll...) on the obverse.

my question, from this description what would you think a <MS60-2 FS> struck thru error from the mid-late 90s be worth? i know im gonna get like 10 "give us a picture"s, im just asking a guess because i cant scan pics.

    thanks

Well its hard to say what it is...it could be a capped die...
So I'm number 1....somehow get a photo...a scan...take it with a camera...have a friend help but a photo would be what we need.

Looks like a capped die error to me. But I wouldn't grade it MS as it has apparent wear. Certainly worth having it looked at though as these are not all that common.

I agree...capped die error...I wouldn't get rid of it but I would keep it as its a neat error and worth a few dollars.
