Wish it was in a little better condition but I'm not complaining. Actually handed the group to my mom who was sitting next to me in the car and asked her to see if there was anything special. She said there is one with a star and when I looked over and saw the small head I stopped to take a closer look. When I saw the date I said this is a keeper! I was at my normal card game the other night when someone handed me all the money in there wallet to look at without me even asking the question. A new guy to the game asked what I was doing and I explained that I was looking at the notes to see if there was anything collectible. He laughed at me and gave me a look like I was stupid. I will bring this note with me this week and explain to him that this note that came out of the ATM would be worth approx. $250 if it was in better condition. Even in the condition it's in it's worth more than face. Hope you like Darryl
Darryl... The odd's of a 1950 A star coming out of an ATM..is like hitting the lottery!! Better play it tonight..LOL Great find, even though it is a little roughed up..:thumb: RickieB
Thanks everyone!!! RickieB - I may just do that - - and I agree, the odds have to be pretty long! It has character that's for sure! Not to bad though considering it's age and the fact that it has obviously been circulated. There are six very small holes, the biggest one in the portrait field. It's odd because the location of the holes do not make sense. The two closest together may be a small staple and the others are in an odd location for pins? Anyways - I am sure this note has a story to tell if it could! Have to wonder if it had been on a wall of a business that went out of business??? Thanks for looking everyone and keep an eye out chip - the others will show up when you least expect it!
Thanks Noost! Yep, told my mom as soon as I get home it's going into a holder! Now it will rest it's tired threads in a nice safe place with the rest of the collection!
