Anyone have any experience with sending NGC graded coins to crossover into PGCS slabs? I'm sure it depends on the coin but just wondering how the process went and did you get the results you expected? Thanks in advance.

It very much depends on the coin. I have seen many exceptions to what I'm about to say, but the majority of the time, I would say the coin comes back from PCGS 1 point lower for uncirculated coins. For circulated coins, I believe they're about the same.

I specialize in Jefferson nickels, and I truly believe PCGS does a better job with these, although I have heard many people say NGC is tougher on nickels. All I know is, I've got MS-66 coins in PCGS holders that look better than MS-67 coins in NGC holders.

I have crossed a few, always at same grade or in a few cases higher. Look at the 09-SVDB in 62BR on my site, that was in NGC AU-58 plastic.

Only had one fail to cross in any grade.

Thanks guys. Now that is good news. I am looking at a few Lincolns to crossover because the price difference realized on those coins between NGC and PCGS is quite high.

Checked out your website. Nice 1909-S VDB ms62 BN. Good call on the crossover. I may pick your brains on those Lincolns I am looking at sending in here in about a week if you don't mind Jack.
