After languishing for 30+ days unopened, NGC finally opened up my standard submission of an inexpensive (but rare) 1787 "goiter" NJ Colonial Copper and a pricey 1694 Elephant Token that I have high hopes for on grading. They moved to Imaging/Grading/Encapsulation pretty quickly and I, for the first time, paid for the upgraded photos. It's kind of funny to have the photos but still no idea of the grades. Aside from the fact that the NJ Copper is details / low grade, I think the extra $8 per coin was money well spent - what do you think?
That elephant token is holding up quite nicely to be 300 plus years old. Never seen once that flawless before.
Oh I hate to hear that! What tier? I submitted these standard and they say turnaround is in 28 days - mine were entered into the system last Friday, so we'll see. I did make one prior submission to NGC, also standard tier, and they went about a week over the expected turnaround.
The photos of yours are nice. NGC photos in general have been fairly solid from what I have observed others say lately.
The ones that are left are medals submitted at the Pittsburgh ANA in the standard tier. For some reason they are always late on medals. I sent some world coins at the same time and they have been back for over a month. The were submitted on the same tier. Here is one that I am waiting on.
PS- the Photovision images are a big reason why I’ve shifted more from PCGS to NGC these days. I’ve been finding the Photovision pics to be much more appealing than the PCGS TrueViews lately.
