NGC holder

    By no means an expert on holders, but I’ve never seen this one before.

    The "T?" They used that to designate toned coins for a short period of time.

    NGC 8.0...somewhat uncommon and they carry a bit of a premium

    Generation 8.0 - Uncommon.

    Produced Aug 2000 - Sept 2000. Holder used for 4 weeks. It features a revised front label with serial number moved below barcode. Rear has slightly larger hologram than Gen 7. It proved unpopular and was quickly discontinued.


    ...the T (toned) and W (white) lasted longer than the 8.0 holder but also went away fairly quickly since it wasn't too popular. Here is a thread from this forum that has more details:

    I've seen several W holders, but this is the first T I've seen!

    If you find an Appalachian Jefferson, you will usually find a "T" with it.
