I bought this Indian Cent and when I received it I noticed it was full of errors. Will the clashed die errors increase it value ? this is such a neat coin especially with the partial date above the headdress. Any
thoughts or info is greatly appreciated. Thanks Mark

To a bidiot, yes, but not really too much under most circumstances. It is cool though.

I did talk to NGC and it is an additional $30.00 for the " clashed die " and possibly a RPD. The date is also messed up and looks re-punched. I will try to sneak a photo
of the whole slab. I may have to eliminate 1 photo.

    Thanks for the comments.

Perhaps you misunderstood. The fee for Variety Plus is $12.

A clashed die is not considered an error.

I have found that clashed dies in the IHC series are not very rare. I have quite a few of them in high grades. I dont know about the date above the headdress though. It is probably the ribbon on the reverse that is clashed above the feathers on the obverse. If it is a date, then you have a double strike. There is no other way you can have a date above the feathers.

This is probably not worth getting re-graded. Just my two cents (or cent in this case).

Here is a photo oh the date. The 1 is repunched or something. And some other machine doubling on the headdress. That is on all the tops of the feathers.
