Hi Folks, I guess it's high grades or key dates, so I went for key dates tonight.

    NFLD 1880 1c Oval 0 mintage unknown (VG-8 $240, F-12 $375, VF-20 $625)

    NFLD 1870 5c only 30,000 minted (VG-8 $240, F-12 $375, VF-20 $675)

    NFLD 1885 10c only 8,000 minted (VG-8 $130, F-12 $240, VF-20 $500)

The scratches on the 1870 mean that only a details grade would be in the offing but the other two
should grade I would think. Undecided at to whether to send them in to NGC or not, perhaps not.

Just my opinion, but I don't think I'd risk the money.

Probably right, as I say, went for key dates not grade. I sold a Canadian key date in low grade (unslabbed) within 4 minutes of posting it on e-bay for three times what I paid this week. Keep or sell, not sure yet.

Well that's kind of my point. They don't need to be slabbed to sell. And being raw, some may even gamble a bit on them.

Paying grading fees is not always a good choice.
