Knowing full well I wouldn't get a response to this spam/ad e-mail which somehow got sent to me yesterday about an upcoming CSNS Show, etc., I responded with a rather obvious question which has vexed many remote/geographically separated coin collectors of late. Why not have one closer to the CENTER or the Central States????

But, at least the e-mail didn't come back as undeliverable. ;)

    (Bonedigger's question)
    Hello Dianne,

I was just wondering why the Central States Numismatic Society doesn't ever come closer to the center of the Central United States? I live in Western South Dakota and am only 30 miles from the geographic center of the (lower 48 states) nation. I would think that the Civic Center in Rapid City would provide more than enough space for the show as well as the plethora of hotels in the area.

Please pass the word to the powers that be, but for a farmer/collector like many Dakotans traveling 800 miles one way by car or air during calving or planting season just isn't feasible.

    Thanks
    Ben Blake

One minor correction. I would guess that you live 30 miles from the geographic center of the nation -50 states. The geographic center of the 48 contiguous state is at Lebanon, KS. The center for all 50 states is in Butte County, South Dakota,
