There wasn't enough evidence of arson for criminal conviction under a standard of "beyond all reasonable doubt", and the jury couldn't even agree under a standard of "more likely than not", so no striped sunshine. The jury did agree that he made deliberate false statements to the insurance company, so no insurance money. What I find interesting is that even in his insurance fraud attempt, Bence tried to pretend that SGS is a separate entity. He included "Star Collectors Ltd." in his list of plaintiffs, but not "Star Grading Service".

What I found interesting is they didn't have all the businesses listed on the Insurance Policy and the Insurance Company even argued that point on the appeal but the SC rendered their arguments moot since the jury found for them anyways, so why beat a dead Abon into the ground. I also found it interesting that within the previous year of the fire, they had never NOT set the alarm but on the night of the fire, it wasn't set. :goof: Then, the video surveillance tapes disappeared but then resurfaced minus the one tape that showed the area that caught fire :whistle: and they argued the Insurance Company didn't act in good faith? dd: I guess Abon thought their business standards applied to the rest of the world? Yes the fire might have happened in 1999, but that still does not excuse his lack of care, and his greed, scamming newbies on ebay and dipping his coins. This just shows the level of his character
I bought some SGS coin in my less wiser days. I don't blame abon....I blame myself for being so stupid :hammer: Some people need to accept responsibility for their actions and stop blaming others. It doesn't matter what you collect, if you don't educate yourself first its your fault. No one made you press that bid button and you really only have yourself to blame in the long run.
I just wonder how they determined the value of the inventory - I mean where would they get the prices for all those 70's.
