I have been slowly upgrading my u.s. type set & a shield nickel was high on the list to get. One finally came up on the CU BST board with a price I was willing to pay, luckly it was a much better grade then what I budgeted for. This is the seller's photo. Its really nice in hand & couldnt be happier.
That's a beauty Mat. I love the die break through "cents" These Shield Nickles had so many errors, that these problems alone make it a very appealing series to collect. If you have a chance, I'd like to see more of your type set. Congrats on your new pickup. Bruce
Thanks for the comments. Bruce, most of my coins are raw & in coin world slabs so I dont have picks of them. I just post photos of coins I get from sellers.
That's a beauty. For some reason, I have never cared for this design...but examples like this make me start to reconsider.
You might very well be right. I have always loved the Liberty Heads and the Buffalo's...but who knows. I could easily be swayed.
