I posted a thread on this series last week, looking for advice, and after some research managed to acquire a piece for my collection. I think I did pretty well. The reverse is extremely well-struck with all the device details - only weakness is the mint mark is cut off, but there's enough to see CONS. The legends on the obverse are all readable, and the patination seems attractive, although this is the seller's image, and he does not take good pics. I've given it an auto-level. But I've had good success with him in the past, so here it is, for now...
This fabulous little tidbit arrived today, and I couldn't be happier. All this detail on such a small coin - it's quite impressive...
Nice looking reverse. Did the obverse look as good as the seller's images? It looks like a nice portrait.
The obverse is perfect: centered, with complete legends. This coin is scarce in this condition - I looked at dozens and dozens of examples, and this one stood out above the rest. AND, I got it for a song at auction. I won't say what I paid for it because I don't like seeing grown men cry.
