I posted a thread about this when I bought it a couple days ago and I just received and photographed it yesterday...anyone like it? I do.
Yep, a very nice O-114. Too bad they didn't attribute it for you. Looks like a VF30 from here is South Dakota. The lack of definition on the breast and clasp can be attributed more to the die/planchet thickness (and lack of metal flow into the obverse die) than wear IMHO. Notice the great shield and directly opposite that is what? These coins have very high surfaces, many times above the rim and I've always felt they should be considered "High Profile" like the 1921 Peace, etc... Take Care Ben
Thanks Mark and Ben. I noticed right away how the coin had a really high relief...I can see myself really getting into this series. If I start collecting CBH's by overton # I might send it back in for the attribution, but for now it'll stay as it is.
Well - I don't think PCGS does overton numbers. I would keep it just as it is. I never really thought about what Ben mentioned, but he is right they are high relief type coins.
Thanks for the comments everyone. I believe PCGS just recently started attributing them by overton number...don't know if they do this for all CBH's or only if you request it though.
They do. $20 bucks extra, and 5 more days. And I bet they use all five of those days... They've expanded their attribution options.
When did they start doing that? I called and ask about a couple I was sending in(back in december) and they told me they did not do that. So for the 1806 there was like 5/6 categories - so the one shown would have been 1806 pointed 6 stem through claw(or something like that). Oh well - don't plan on sending anything else in right now.
