    Mintage 1,996,889. The value VG-8 .50, F-12 $1.00, VF-20 $1.50,EF-40 $3.00,AU-50 $12.00. These values are in $CDN.

Ngr,although the Newfoundland 1942 1c. coin was struck at the Royal Canadian Mint in Ottawa, the 'C' mintmark was inadvertently left off the coin, due to the omission by oversight in the inspection of the dies before they were put into the coining machine.

Sounds like a VF or VF+. The grading on Newfoundland coins is quite tough, many an "UNC" offered is actually an EF+. (The same 1-2 grades overgrading also seen on F-EF pieces)

The 1940 Newfoundland 1c. also had the mintmark
inadvertently left off the coin in the same way like the 1942.Both the 1940 & the 1942 1c. coins also come with re-engraved dates, but I don't know how
to tell the difference, even though the re-engraved date coins are catalogued far higher than the normal one.
