I have 2 5 cent Newfoundland coins, 1 is dated 1881, the other 1888. They are both in fairly good condition, everything is readable, date etc. some wear. Just wondering if they have any value.

    Newfoundland 5¢
    1881
    G-4 $30.00
    F-12 $125.00
    VF-20 $275.00

For some reason the VG-8 value is missing from the CCN trends but I would estimate it at $65.00 to $70.00.

    1888
    G4 $35.00
    VG-8 $70.00
    F-12 $140.00
    VF-20 $275.00

If you could post pictures we could estimate the grade. If everything is readable they are probably VG or better.

I've tried to take pictures of the coins with my digital camera, but unfortunately the pics aren't good enough to post. Was also wondering if anyone knew of any information about a Newfoundland token, dated 1846, Rutherford Brothers, Hr. Grace. All I know of this token is that it was used when there was a shortage of coinage in Newfoundland. I have no idea of it's value, if any. Any help on this one??

As a collector of Newfoundland coins, the rarest date in the 5c. series is the 1946C one.Bill can post the Charlton prices on these (C$).
