One thing I like about off center coins is that the area struck is usually way better than average

    Couldn't agree with you more.

Anyone see the SLQ that's 15% O/C coming up at auction for Long Beach ?
O/C at the Head - and only 65% of the head area showing & its listed as a
FH by PCGS - just thought this was humorous.

    Stack's auction. 9/30 to 10/2/2010. Lot 3292. 1918-S PCGS MS 63FH. 13% O/C.
I've seen this coin auctioned off quite a few times - and the reserve has to be
very high - as it keeps coming back at auction time and time again.

The design struck on the planchlet is very sharp as CHIP mentioned.

Yes. I have looked at it a few times. Thats one sweet error in the SLQ series . I will be watching to see the final bid on this one.

I would venture a guess of $16,500... I thought it
didn't hit reserve before at a bid of $13K.

Kind of surprised the collector whose set is called:
"Just Having Fun" isn't hot on that coin.
