What is the process for having a coin appraised and "slabbed" and how much does it typically cost? Do most of you find it easier just to take it to a local certified NGC guy, or if not, what services do you send your coins to?

    Thanks,
    Andy

You can take it to a local dealer---I don't know of any local NGC guys anywhere---other than the guys that can send coins to NGC but that doesn't make them good grades...but most dealers will be able to give you an idea of the grade.
To get on slabbed you are looking at around $30 + S&H....BUT I tell you what---why don't you take a few good photos of both sides of the coin "s" and post them here on CoinTalk---I'm sure that there is a good many guys here that would help you know what they grade and for free ;)
