    Hi Y'all,
I'm new to the coin game, and there is a auction shortly in my town which has a bunch of coins. Its a pretty small town so i'm hoping to get some good finds.

While going through some pictures, i noticed a 1997 American Eagle graded MS69 by NGC and on the print, it says:

    1997 Eagle S$1
    Set 931 of 1500
    25 years of Silver Eagles

Is the coin on its own have any extra value or do you need to have all the coins in that set? They do have all 25 coins. I noticed on a ebay auction a nice wooden box that the set came in but i'm assuming this box is not available. Will that hurt the value?

    Thanks

What you are describing, the box part anyway, is just something that some private company put together. The coins themselves, either individually or all together, are not worth any more or any less than any other ASE of the same date and grade.

Also, ASEs didn't start until 1986, so 2011 is 25 years of Silver Eagles.

    No, 1986-2010 (inclusive ) is 25 coins.

Silver closed at 29.30 yesterday; that puts this set at 151.94 per coin. All I have to say is, “NO”!!!

There is so much wrong with that offer. Price, not a "US Mint" release, but an after market package. Oh yea, and price. I found a 26 coin 1986 to 2011 NGC MS69 for about 1400.00 without even looking that hard. I'm sure there is even better deals out there.
