Okay guys so I’m new to coin collecting and am stuck on a few things. I have read a lot of comments on other threads and even visited sites some people have suggested, but I’m still stuck so hopefully someone can help me out. Sorry in advanced I’m not to familiar with all the terminology yet! So my first question is on the picture with all 4 dimes, would those dimes be considered error dimes because they are not centered? My second would be on the 1986 p dime(second photo)! What is going on above the word liberty? Was it just a bad punch press? My last question is On the 1983 dime it looks like it had some wear and tear but after taking a second look it has the same fading above the lib in Liberty as the 1986. The in and we are almost non existent. And on the back of the coin the word United seems to be faded on the top like the word liberty. Also the three in the date is actually sitting on the rim if you can tell from the picture. I don’t have a scale I wanted to weigh it because the 1983 dime is also a lot thinner than the other dimes. So any help would be awesome.
4 Dimes - Some are slightly misaligned Die Strikes. Not Off Center. Normal occurrence. 2nd Dime - Damaged 3rd Dime - Circulation wear and Worn Die strike.. Struck through grease issue. Nothing major.
Misaligned die strikes on Roosevelt dimes are quite common, I have found several. None of these are major errors.
While I already have a thread can you tell me what you guys think about these. More specifically how to tell the difference between small rim/wide rim. Just trying to learn!
