I recently started collecting and have an original role of 1971-D Lincoln cents (I opened) and noticed on the reverse that many of them have blank spots in the middle of the top and bottom lines of the memorial building. Are these error coins?
Hello dlytle from your description, probly not an error in the purest sense of the word, more than likely ,they are weak strikes or the result of die errosion,some pictures would be helpful in being sure about the cause .
