New York acquisitions #1

    My daughter and I had a great time in New York! We saw CHICAGO and WICKED and, oh yeah, another show called the NYINC. I acquired 5 coins from 5 different cities which were not represented in my collection! The first is from Triton XVIII:

    Katane, Sicily, AR tetradrachm, c 461-450 BC, 26 mm, 17.31 g. OBV: River god Amenanos crouching right; laurel branch above; below, fish right / REV: Nike advancing left, holding tainia in extended right hand. The catalog describes it as "among the finest of less than 20 specimens known."
