    Hi,

I started in the "Introduction" section, but am kinda excited over my first finds. I know it's a real stretch, and sadly, I cannot figure out yet how to take pictures with my camera.

I'm hoping that maybe you can help me with this, however, even without a picture yet, so I'll know whether I can be excited or not!

I've found, in my 1970's Lincoln cents, three coins which have doubling on the reverse lettering. I'm having trouble grasping the "machine, etc., versus hub doubling" concept. These have doubling to the bottom of some if not most of the lettering "United States of America", and then the top sides of the monument, with several moving down the side of the monument.

Is this common among machine doubling, or does machine doubling move down the monument as well?

I am so lost, but hoping for a find!

    Can anyone advise?

If the doubling is shelf-like it is most likely machine doubling which occurs just after the die strikes the coin and chatters (which shears off a portion of the just-struck device).

    Arrggghh..

Thanks, Hobo. I'll get pics up one day soon, and show you how they look.
