Just added two beautiful washingtons to my collection, both graded by NGC: 1932 and 1955-D. I'd like to hear some opinions and grade guesses! I'll post the grades in a day or two. 1932 1955-D
OK, here goes: MS-65 on the 1932 I'm not too sure about the 1955.. it looks weakly struck (look at Washington's hair) or maybe it's lightly worn.. it's hard to tell.. If it's weakly struck, I'll give it an MS-64...
I agree with Frank. I think the 32 is a 64, and the 55-D is a 63, but NGC may put them both in a 65 holder.
Ok here we go... Personally I think the 1932 is undergraded by a point. I may crack it out and try for MS65...but I'll have to think about it. I believe the 1955-D is graded correctly. I got these in a trade on the CU forum...I think I did pretty well.
Those aren't necessarily the "right" grades...just the ones assigned by that "grader" on that day. However, that's a different topic for a different thread.
You should see the ANACS 1918 S Standing Liberty quarter that is graded as an AU-50. I bought it as a VF. But, will gladly sell it as an AU, or even an XF.
