To start, I did see the results thread and will use from now on, I just have general questions about CRH this time around.

I was looking for 2005 (to inspect bison), 1990 (missing initials), 1971S (don't own magic horseshoe), and then pre 1965. Here were results:

    Years - (Quantity Found)
    60-64 (61)
    52 (1), 54 (2), 55 (4), 56 (2), 57 (2), 58 (1)
    40 (3), 41 (3), 42 (2), 43 (1), 45 (1), 46 (3), 47 (1), 48 (2)
    39 (2)
    * Two buffalo nickels, neither of which I can see any remnants of a date at the base, they are worn
**One 1944 Belgie 1 Frank? Not worth much but it was weird to come across after half box of Jeffersons.

I posted this extensive list not really knowing what to look for, just going by some general cliff notes I had found on the internet. What do you guys think of my criteria, and what of my selection is actually worth keeping or may contain things I should check further. I have zero knowledge on nickels or what of them have value, other than what I see in price guide. I also have not checked older ones for mistakes, I just found a list before typing this.

I set these aside to get outside help to know how to slim down the selection further. Thanks in advance for the help. I am looking forward to the replies and checking out similar threads to pick up things for the future.

first off, go thru the coin roll hunting thread to see what other nickel searchers save, i recently posted a box i finished on page 1447 which was like my best ever, found my first liberty nickel, i only keep pre 1960's, anything later i only keep if they are near mint condition as replacements in circulation folders, or errors, or proofs, i'd also suggest getting yourself the book "cherrypickers guide" on cents an nickels, lots of good info, the 2 buffs, since they are pretty much worthless without dates, i use "nic-a-date" on them to bring out the date, i show a pic in my post, the dateless buff i found turned out to be 1929, hope this helps an welcome to CT an happy hunting!
