Hi all, I am a new collector and just wanted to say hello. I recently started to collect small amounts of silver bars, but then, with the advice of a coin dealer, decided to switch over to coins. Let me just say I have become hooked! Currently, I only really plan on collecting Silver coins, as the Silver is still a main part of my goal. One is a 2008 that was slabbed and graded, the others are 2013's.

Here are some pics of what I have so far:
(Note, being new and dumb, I broke the 2008 Eagle out of its slab because the slab was scratched, not realizing I could not just put it in another slab and have it mean the same thing)

Howdy and welcome. Do you have reverse images for the quarters?

    Thanks, yeah,

    Here they are:

I'm really happy with the 34 and while I like the worn look of the 32, I wish it was in a little better shape

    Welcome to the neighborhood!

That slab was of little importance since the SAE did not have a numeric grade. Sometimes dealers will submit these in bulk. Yes, even the TV dealers whom you should not trust. They will usually specify a minimum (numeric) grade they will accept. The rest may be returned to them unslabbed or go into an "Uncirculated" slab such as yours. I hope you didn't pay too much for it because the slab added no value to the coin.

No, I got it for a fair price so no loss there at least.

I almost forgot. Those flips look like the pliable type which could contain PVC. Long-term storage in flips containing PVC could damage the coins. Sometimes sellers will use flips containing PVC because they are cheaper, and they only use them for coins that are being shipped to a buyer.

If they smell like a shower curtain, then they contain PVC, and you should remove the coins.

I'll take a smell. Any suggestion for temporary storage if I need to order new ones?

I can't speak to the storage, there are so many options. I will however say that I'd look into getting the red book: guide to us coinage. It's a nice reference. That's if you're really looking to get into this minus the silver content. Either way, welcome.
