So today, I picked up a set of uncirculated $2 anda set of $1 and the serial numbers are in order from ending in 1 to double zero. I was wondering are there any denominations I should keep like $2s? and how does one keep a stack for a long time without wear and tear? any covers or protectors for stacks?
Congrats on your new pickups. As for your questions: -$2's are neat, and they are my favorite denomination, but they are not as rare as most folks think. Obviously, keep what you like and what you enjoy, but no, I wouldn't make it a general rule to keep all $2's you come across. -As for the storage issue, by "stacks", I assume you mean straps? To store a strap (usually a pack of 100 notes, with BEP band wrapped around it, or a bank band, if they are circulated. Circulated bank straps can also come in quantities of 25 and 50) I would imagine it would be much like storing a single note. You would want to store the strap in a protective plastic, free of chemicals that can damage the paper over time. I'm not an expert on this, though, so maybe somebody who is more knowledgeable on this topic can respond. Good luck, and I hope this addressed your questions.
I'm only keeping this "strap" of $2s because they are brand spanking new! they're uncirculated!! should I use my strap of $1s uncirculated to buy $2s haha
