Is this a DDO or my imagination? I checked CONECA and doubledie.com, they don't list anything for Indiana:

What do you think, the real deal?

As always, thanks for entertaining my posts!

In my opinion, it looks pretty good! I definitely see what your talking about. I don't know if its a DD however. I'm not 100 percent but if it was a true DD, wouldn't there have to be a full second lobe? From the pics and what I'm seeing, the second lobe's highest point is parallel to the first lobes farthest point. The other parts of the second lobe dip back into the coin before creating a full second lobe, leading me to believe a strong strike error. But I could surely be wrong! Just my opinion, like I stated earlier.

I'm interested to see what others will have to say! Cool Find!:hail::thumb:

Thanks! Not bad for pocket change

Even if it is garbage, it's still just pocket change!

There is a dent in the ear which is probably throwing things off, it runs across the actual ear from ENE to WSW. It'd sure be nice to have a better digital microscope! BTW, what do you guys use? I have the low end Dino-Lite with .3mp 640x480. It's fine for most things, but it'd be nicer to get something better... but I'd like to keep the cost under $200!

I use a traditional stereomicroscope and even though they have come down quite a bit in cost since I bought mine about 7 years ago, I still don't think you'll like the price.

Now you're just rubbing it in! ;)

What are the specs on yours? I found some on ebay that look interesting (some in the mid $200s), but I don't want be cheap and get something that will under perform.

To be perfectly honest, I've had it so long that I can't remember the specs. I know I have the literature that came with it, but I can't remember where it is. All I can remember is that it cost $850 with the camera attachment.

The only recommendation I can make is that you should try to avoid any scopes that are made in China. If something goes wrong, it's almost impossible to get replacement parts.

Been there done that, my very first microscope I ever ordered was from China, off Ebay. Boy that was a massive mistake and headache. After having no luck getting the thing focusing or zooming, It took me a week to contact the seller again, and they barely knew english. So they kept sending me the same MSG saying "Reinstall program, camera work." Well it surely didn't, and it took over a month and ebay getting involved to get my money back, and I still had to pay the return shipping which was 20 bucks, so I got screwed. DON'T BUY CHINA.

Funny you should just post this, I was just looking at this:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/20x-40x-80x-Dual-lights-Stereo-Microscope-2-0MP-USB-Digital-Camera-2-Mega-Pixel-/120964511646?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c2a0bf79e#ht_5204wt_1397

Does this look like the type you bought? The page doesn't say "Made in China", in fact, it doesn't have any maker info.

Thanks for the warning (you and cpm9ball)! I should probably start another post in another section asking for models/costs. I have a few coins that I just can't evaluate well because my .3mp 640x480 isn't cutting it.
