The new weird coins in my collection. Denomination of both coins: 400 Somaliland Shillings Shape: Bimetallic , the outer ring is circular inside , rectangular outside , metal: copper / nickel (?) the center plug is rounded , metal: aluminum / bronze (?) Dates of both coins: 2005 Icons: Yasser Arafat 1929-2004, (looks like a clown) on one coin , with his national flag , and a dove and streched out hand. on the other coin , Yizhak Rabin (looks somewhat weird) , Israeli flag , and a dove and streched out hand. Weights: 38.6 grams each.
I think that the coins are a Somaliland's trial to get money from collectors. That is why the subject of the coins is peace out of Somaliland , odd denomination : 400 , rectangular shape , heavy weight , and non Somaliland Flags... In addition: The Ebay prices got 38.65 $ for the 2 coins. I bought them from a friend , and paid about 30.45 $
The African countries are wooing the coin enthusiasts now a days... They are issueing some brilliant and wonderful coins..

Nice Somaliland medal-coins.I don't think that these have ever been seen in Somaliland at all.The traders in Hargeisa would not be familiar with these. Aidan.
