It arrived today. I bought this from Steve @ SLQ Coins. It's a small S, 1928-S NGC MS64. On the reverse it has a die cud just to the SW of the "E" in "Quarter" also, and this is what I like about it, is a strikethrough on the reverse right around 11:00. What I REALLY like about this coin is that you could say it's got 3 different things about it. There's a few die cracks on the obverse, it's a struk-through and it has a cud. None of these are dramatic, but it has multiple items of interest This particular cud is one I've only found so far on a couple of megadipped circ pieces, I don't normally like Unc coins, but this one I do Coin looks MUCH better in hand. Pics stolen from SLQ's website but hosted elsewhere. Whatcha think? Here's some up close pics... That's the strikethrough. It's not a lamination, it looks like it was struck through a piece of wire. That's the cud. A very small cud just on the lower left corner of the "E" in "QUARTER"
rld - don't like unc coins, eh? You are a rare beast. I don't own a SLQ, but I like yours. Agree with you that these little imperfections make a coin interesting and separate it from the crowd. :thumb:
Man, you are an SLQ variety freak. Nice pickup. And BTW, I don't believe you! I re-imaged my 1930-S NGC MS67 FH. Now tell me you don't like it!
well the coin of yours i liked best was the untoned beauty which you didnt like. now if you were to dip this coin i would love it
Oh yeah, dipping is against my religion but pick a dollar series (Morgan to present) and I will show you an untoned coin from my collection.
how about outside the dollar series? i think you have the same amount of white coins as i have toned coins a really small number
How about some quarters for the SLQ thread that we successfully hijacked: My diversity is astounding you huh spock.
i really am astounded that you are really wasting money on ugly white coins when you can get coins in any color especially after you have converted everyone on Ct to love toned coins ( barring one ) now if you started a thread posting all your white coins that would really be cool
Paul, Nice coin. I know how you like toning, and you don't see these very often that have color as you know. Tough tough grade too, and well struck for that issue.
