I dunno. Too much light in the upper half and too dark in the lower half. I see hits on Abe's cheek, in the field in front of Abe and on the reverse. I also see a spot at 10:00 on the obverse. I would say MS-63 from what I can see.
I'm only kidding. THe coin looks nice. A bit weakly struck on the obverse. I'd say low MS -- 63 or 64 RD by the way the TPGs grade. If that coin grades lower than AU 58, I'll eat it.
I would go MS63, especially if the "?? blotch" near the I in IN GOD is there. When I blow it up to full size, it looks like an alien in a flying saucer ( sell it on ebay). Also in hand , the rub on the coat lapel ( may not really be that) might lead one to believe some circulation, which would knock it down to a 58 ( or AU63 as they say). hey thanks for your help guess I have a keeper here. Now , Is it me or when you click the inlarge do you see doubling on the date and liberty? or is it just my eyes and wishfull thinking? I cant see any doubling with my magnifier here. only on this pic/.
I agree and I think this coin would go about 64rd. These pictures are much nicer than the other. Nice coin!
I saw that blotch also but it doesn't appear to be in the photo in the other thread. I thought it looked like a copyright mark actually. Anyway, assuming that's a photographic remnant of something, I am going with MS63 RD. Reverse is more like 64-65 but the mark on Abe's face is grade-limiting, I assume. Nice coin and Yorkie, your photographic skills have already exceeded mine.:thumb:
