Yeah, my wife went Christmas shopping, she then wanted an idea of what to get me. I told her, do not worry/ there are some really nice coins coming up today and tomorrow. So, I know what I am getting from Santa;)

Indeed, you got a very nice looking coin. I have found some pleasant pieces from them in the past as well. Congratulations!

I've never looked at Portuguese coins before, but will in the future. Yours is a real beauty! Cal

Nice coin - I really like older world coins with portraits. This was a pretty turbulent time in Portuguese history...Miguel reigned just a few years before being forced into exile.

Thanks for the nice comments. I agree, Portuguese coinage/ including Brazil are prolific/ nicely designed and very affordable:D The ones from Goa are a tad crude.
