Wisdom and courage can only be overcome by turtles.

Wanted to share a new photo of an old coin. I was having a tough time with the globular planchet but I think it came out alright.

Share a Greek coin of the Archaic Period.

    Attica, Aegina
    AR Stater (BC 600-550)
    22 mm x 11.12 grams
    Obverse: Sea Turtle
Reverse: Incuse square of ‘mill-sail’ pattern
Ref: BMC Attica pl. XXIII, 6

I have trouble with focus in the macro mode on my camera, but I think I will try once again.

My photo is awful, not sure how to go about it, how do you get it ALL in focus:(

That does seem to be the problem. The camera will focus on one point of these, but then others are left out of focus.

Noob it would be better if it was all in focus! Maybe it needs a slower shutter speed or something. Doug, give me a hint :(

easiest way to get longer focal range is to move the camera/lens further away...
wider the lens, thicker focal planes.
with the same lens, bigger the sensor thicker the focal plane also...
stepping down, sure but you get less light...
if it gets all out of control then focal stacking with photoshop always solves the problem but required more work
