Has anybody actually seen the new Mint Mark pennies and nickles in circulation? I have only seen the quarter and twonie.
My apologies I should have specified Canadian coins. Aren't ya'll glad you don't have coins called twonies and Loonies??!! Anyway, I am trying to find these new issues in circulation but haven't seen any yet? The mint has issued first day covers and I wonder if these will become scarce coins, seeing as there are only two months left and none that I know of in circulation Cheers Saxmanbrass
The Royal Canadian Mint's website may be able to help you. They have a contact page with a link for answering any questions you may have about the new privy mark and the coins bearing it: www.mint.ca or you can call them on their toll free number:: 800-267-1871 Hope this helps, Clinker
I saw a toonie with a new mint mark a couple of weeks ago, and some quarters with the new mint mark. I haven't seen any other coins with the new mint marks yet. Happy hunting!! fiftypee
There is 'supposed' to be coins dated 2006 in all denominations with the new mint mark. I'd ask the mint, but I wouldn't expect a very 'honest' or helpful answer. I've called a few times to see if they have any rolls of circ. coins with the new mm, but they only have $2 rolls, and the new Bravery 25c rolls. And theres also the "Special Edition" P-L mint set and all coins have the new mint mark, it's cheaper than getting those over-priced first-day strikes.
I have seen the new nickle, dimes and the Commerative Medal of Bravery quarters. I work at a bank so I have seen some by the rolls. You could go into a bank and ask for new rolls of coins if they have any, if they do you could get them for face value.
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I haven't seen any cents, nickles or dimes with the new mint mark yet? As for getting rolls at the bank, I too have had no luck in Mississauga. Cheers Saxmanbrass
