Could you tell me what kind of errors these arcs are? They have ridges and are not manmade scratches. On the other NM quarters I have out of the same roll have you can see where these arcs have been burnished flat and smoothed out.

Are the ridges raised above the field? They look exactly like vending machine marks.

No they aren't above the field. After looking much more closly after your reply Ifound that they ARE scratches and grooves. I guess I have to be more careful in my inspection of coins. But this was a new roll from the bank and as I said the others were burnished out. THANKS, I'll try to post a couple of others where the scratches have been removed. so I guess I just have damaged coins. I'm still very new to coin collecting and it shows but I'll hang in there. No problem. Thats how you learn. Keep looking. I wouldn't be suprised if there are some errors on all the state quarter designs...they just haven't all been discovered yet.

Yep - Keep looking. I finally found one of the extra cactus Arizona coins. Lots of errors not yet discovered. Searching is part of the fun. :)

lean it up against a mirror and take pic from an angle or put it in a holder with obverse straight up and take a pic, then take a rev pic(heads up on the other side) and post both.
