Hey Guys! Thanks for the welcome. No sinister reasons, but I collect mainly WWII-era German coins. I started (and still focus) on militaria, so the coins were part of a natural progression.
Any good/reputable dealers or sellers on the board?

    David,

Nothing wrong with collecting WWII or Nazi coins and millitaria. You won't have to worry about anyone critisizing you for your collecting strategy here.
Why, I even know some people that collect "slabbed" coins. We all get along just fine.

Yes it is gold. That is a 1913-J 20 mark, struck at the Hamburg mint. The design of the lions flanking the gates of the castle are one of my favorite designs ;)

I have a few third Reich coins knocking about, quite a few zinc ones especially, i'm also keen on the 2 reichsmark ones.

I think the Nazi ones are a fascinating area in themselves, they reek of history like no one would believe, they illustrate both the use of propaganda and the ravages of war on the economy with the alloy changes. Collectability wise they really have everything going for them. Variety, history and they'll always create interest when you show them people.
