Okay- lets try this: and the reverse. Playing with the photobucket web site. The images are actually different sizes - took me forever(about 30 minutes) to figure out how to get the smaller images here. Maybe next time I will look at some help. Grading opinions and attibution opinions are welcome. I think it is S121b. I think the coin looks better in hand.
They always do ! I'm thinking G-4, maybe VG-8. I love these old coppers... neglected part of my cabinet right now.
Mark. Going by the picture I would have to say G-4 and I can not tell from the picture if it is stemless, that will not change the grade however it will the value. I also love old copper I hope you got it for a good price they are great coins. Bruce.
An easy G4 and then some. The obverse is closer to a full VG. Nice coin - can't beat that old copper!
Nice looking 1797. I would probably grade it 6 net 4. With the single top leaves on the reverse and the close date, it is likely an S-121b (assuming it has a gripped edge). Now if it has a plain edge, you have yourself a real winner and a very rare coin.
Very nice coin! I would grade it G-4. I bought a 1800/79 cent about 3 months ago but it's damaged. Lou
I don't have one of those - yet. It's hard to find the early dates without some type of problem. But I like the early coppers.
