Just arrived in the mail today. This is the first NGC envelop I've ever bought. Got it for a steal I think, under $20 including S&H!

Very nice nickelman. I have a question though..
seeing as how they are such high grades, won't keeping them in those mint sealed envelopes scratch them?
thats why I stay away from the Canadian grading company ICCS, because when they grade the coins they just put them in sleeves with a piece of paper. the coin can slide around all it wants, unlike ANACS, PCGS or NGC where the coin is securely held in place.

I think for that price he bought it already graded.

Yeah - Brain cramp. I'll have to wander over to the NGC site as see the fees.

Don't know, I tried shaking it around and it didn't seem to move. I'm not planning on storing it where its being moved around so I do not think it will pose a problem.

GD was right I bought it graded so have no idea what it cost to cert. My guess is it cost more to grade than what I paid.:D

    Interesting.
I didn't know NGC (or any good TPG) had that sort of holder.
Closest I know of is NGC grading GSA Morgans in the original Gov't holder.

As for scratching (sort of "cabinet friction"), don't know, but with minimal handling and proper storage, I don't see a problem.

but a feature that most take for granted in the current TPG "slabs"

I personally don't like it. I would rather they note that they removed the coin from it's OGP, but then put it in a more standard slab.

    btw... good price
