    Hey cointalk,
I was wonderin' if this was a pocket piece, or a dryer coin. It's clearly more worn down than most quarters I see. image.jpg image.jpg

no I mean was it a pocket coin or a dryer coin? Cause I could send it to PCGS for the Low- ball coin .registry set.

To me a "dryer" coin is one that somehow slipped out of the clothes drum and into the outer shell of the dryer and sat and heated up, cooled, and rolled and rolled for a very long time - you can tell where they have been by the wear and pronounced upset rims they have. In fact the coins become smaller in diameter but have upraised rims.

My first job was working for a company that also serviced commercial dryers, and I used to find these coins in the drums from time to time.

The quarter above has just been heated as though perhaps it got involved in a Grills Gone Wild episode in someone's backyard grill.
