i'm new at this but i was looking through treasury rolls of 2005 p&d bison nickels and found some weird stuffi'll try to post some pics, any help would be appreciated, thanks

the first one has some kind of indent or bad metal that makes jefferson look like he has war paint under his eye and across his cheek, there were 18 in the roll, the next one had 3 in the same roll with the war paint coins.

    thanks again for any help!

    Welcome!!

It looks like it might be a strike through. Some little piece of junk gets stuck to the die and so your coin has a funny depressed spot on it. I've seen that same thing happen on Morgans.

    Thanks for sharing:)

  4. Yeah, looks like a grease strike. A little grease or "mint goo" left on the die and then transferred to the coin. Kind of neat. Try looking om Ebay and see if there are any? Then you can get an idea of what value this coin has.

    Happy hunting,

thanks,i can't find anything like these, this is a stupid question but as i said i'm new at collecting, would this be considered an unusual type error,or do you see alot of this type of error, the thing that makes it cool is being westward journey/bison and that it looks just like indian war paint on jefferson! we sell spanish cob coins in our store, but when it comes to u.s coins i'm lost..........thanks again for the response..
