Actually I found both of these today in paper rolls from the bank. Out of 30 dollars, I found a handful of common wheats, a couple canadian cents, about 1000 nearly uncirculated cents from 1995 to 2009. It looked like someone finally gave up on holding onto some uncirc rolls and just opened them and went through them, and then dumped the whole lot back in rolls. Anyway, the error I wanted to know what you guys thought of is the 1979 on the left. The second picture is of the reverse which shows very little wear. The first picture is of the obverse and as you see it is nearly smooth. Well actually all of the elements are still visible, but looks like a strike-through of some sort. Thoughts? The 1909 vdb above was just a bonus find in the same lot.
The coin on the left shows some circulation wear but it appears to be one that started out as a coin struck through a late stage die cap. Nice finds! Bill
