I just got back from a show today and I bought some D mint new dollars from a dealer. I was telling him there hasn't been any edgeless dollars found on the Adams yet, He said he hadn't found any either but had something new. The dollar he handed me had on the edge a clothlike pattern very faintly on the edge. He has only found three and once again all in the Jacksonville area. What do you think cuased it? I said there was cloth in the edge press, but he said "no" for some reason.
I'll tell you exactly what caused the "error" you haven't shown me, as soon as you tell me what caused the funny looking mark (which I refuse to describe or show you) on the quarter I got in change yesterday.

I just got $500 of the new dollars and have found 22 with this same die scratch / gouge ... insignificant I know... Hmmm...I'll call it the Canceled 2 error on ebay, compare it to the speared bison nickel and get rich!! hehehe ... I know its insignificant, you don't have to bully me about it, but I have fun with this kind of stuff!!

I have one of those.. I started getting desparate when I didn't find much so I kept that one haha. I also started keeping ones that had a fold in the raw plaunchet, that when struck, left a smaller compressed squiggle on the obverse.. sometimes the squiggle landed on Adams forehead and it gives him a suprised look. Pretty funny. To add to the trivia.. I took up a tree from the yard today and before I filled the hole I dropped an adams doller and some other stuff into a time capsule. The 3 people who won my CT contest have my address.. so hold onto that info for a few score. The time capsule will be worth about 3 dollars in 80 years, cause my thumbprint is on it haha...
