New error coin?

    Well here's my attempt at a better picture of my 1935 D Indian/buffalo Nickel. What ya think??

    Still a little hard to tell.

    I can't find any varieties of the 35-D Buffalo. Other than a repunched mintmark. Looks like it could die erosion. That would be the best I could offer without viewing the coin firsthand.

    So if it is die erosion, does that make it worth anything other than its posted price.

    Die erosion is common. This is particularly true with nickel coins. Nickel is a very hard metal to strike, and die cracks and erosion develop quickly. It does not add to the value.



    Let me add this:

    Most of the time, die erosion does not add value. On occasion coins exhibiting lots of erosion have been known to bring a little extra money.
