I believe most of us would have trouble accepting bright shining yellow brass sestertii but that is what they looked like when new. I think each of us should have one coin that is cleaned to metal just to remind us that the green patina was not 'natural' in 90 AD. My Domitian dupondius is odd looking now. Imagine it shining like the current US golden dollars.
