While working my way through identifying a bunch of greek coins in an estate collection, I have found some coins not listed. The first is an amazon in a wolfskin with winged Nike on the reverse, from the city of Sinope in Paphlagonia about 1st century BC and the second is Dionysos with a thyrsus staff on the reverse from the city of Amisos in the kingdom of Pontos also about the 1st century BC. I have found similar versions in neighboring city states or similar configurations, but not exactly these. Are these variations important enough to catalog somewhere? They seem obscure on the one hand, but maybe they are important on the other hand. I have found others as well. Just wondering.
