That Seychelles 25c. is nice.It looks like a Proof coin. They Seychelles is very hard to get both coins & notes from, especially the republican issues (1976 onwards).

Nice group of commonwealth coins, Steve. You are forming a collection slowly but surly. :thumb:

The Indian 25 Paisa coin dated 1985 has an interesting mint mark below date. In 1985, the Indian government contracted Ottawa Mint in Canada to mint coins for this denomination. The Ottawa mint used mint mark "c" below date and is the only Indian coin minted at this Canadian facility. Neat find!

Ballabh,so that is what the 'C' on Indian decimal coins stands for.I had always thought that was a Calcutta mintmark that was introduced to replace a previous symbol serving as the Calcutta Mint's mintmark.

I do know that in recent years the Mexico City Mint & the South African Mint in Pretoria were also used to strike coins for India as well, especially the 1 Rupee coins.

Aidan, the Indian mints are always represented by symbols except in proofs.. If there is a letter below the date, it would definitely be a foreign mint.
