    :welcome: to CoinTalk, Alisha!

Although it's extremely difficult to understand what you're talking about without some photos of the coin in question, it sounds like your coin may have a die chip/break between the 'O' and the 'D' in "GOD". This occurs when a small piece of the steel breaks of the face of the working steel die, causing a small depression (chip) in the die, subsequently causing an elevated mark on the coin when the metal (in this case, Copper/Bronze, what pre-'82 cents are composed of) flows into the crevice, or depression in the die's face!

These chips in the die can occur in many ways, but most commonly occur when the working die, created from what's call the master die, is created with some impurities in the metal, causing it to either become brittle or insufficient to strike properly in some other way. It can also occur when a die/hub is overworked to the point where fractures begin to develop, but this probably isn't the case with your coin.

Minor die chips are fairly common in the Lincoln Cent series, so if this is infact what you have, it's nothing that'd command a premium on todays market, but it's absolutely worth saving if you find it interesting! :)

Again, this is just a shot in the dark. Is there any way you could snap a few shots of the coin and post in this thread? It'd be really helpful in determining exactly what you have. :)

    Hello Lilrice,

    Welcome to CoinTalk.

igradems70 gave you good instructions for posting a photo. However, before you post the photo, please crop the photo so that the coin takes-up most of the photo area (we don't want to see a large blank background with a little coin in it). Then you can post the cropped photo as igradems70 instructed.

I've posted extreme close-up photos of coins that have die chips at the "E" in LIBERTY. You will notice how the coins have metal raised (just like the letters are raised) from the surface of the coin. This raised feature is indicative of a die chip.

We look forward to seeing a photo of your coin.
