    Hey Coin World!

    Me and my dad have been collecting coins for over 30 years, What's the best way to get some of the coins valued?

    I was told this is the hot spot :D

    Welcome to C.T. If you would like opinions on the value of your coins, you can post photos. Have a look at the "What's it worth?" forum for instance.

    A dealer will usually charge an hourly rate for evaluating your collection. Around here it's $30/hr.

    So you've been collecting 30 years and don't know how to find a dealer?
    :wideyed::D
    Haha! Just having a little fun. On this website if you select "Directory" from the top of the forum there are some dealers and reviews listed there and they're organized by country/state. You can check Google for stores or shows near you.

    Google search "coin dealer" plus the city and state where you live.

    If you have been collecting for a period of time, you probably have some idea of the worth of the coins you have. Supposedly you would have gone into a coin shop at one time or the other. Assuming everything you have comes from circulation or from flea markets, you can still filter it a bit. Modern coins usually do not have much more value other than face. Gold and silver have, at least, melt value. Foreign coins...same guidelines as I said before. E-bay remains a valuable tool for those who want to get an idea of value. If you think you have something special, by all means post some pictures and let us help you get started. BTW, welcome to CT

    Just noticed the dealers in the Directory are organized by state, and not by city or any other category. Hard to use.

    Google is your friend! Try this search: "coin dealers near (your zip code)"
