for all those pictures, the wording on that one sure is carefully contructed to promise nothing except the first coin pictured, and six or seven others, which go unnamed.

also if you check the sellers other auctions, he uses the last two pictures in a few different auctions.

might be a good deal though, he has a good positive feedback count

I wasn't interested in purchasing it. I was just interested if anyone had heard of this company. It seems like every 5 minutes a new grading company is popping up out of nowhere. I couldn't find anything on the internet and I was curious if anyone else had even heard of them.

I just got a response from the ANA Library and they were able to find a website that is under construction so I guess they are really new.

I would be interested in any other info anyone has.

do you notice anything... odd... about the design of that website, and the design of that ebay listing?

Put them up with CCGS and SGS coin grading. The question is will all of their coin be MS70 or PR70 too! At least this one was SMS, but graded at only MS69! At least they are not using slabs from Coin World.

You still got to love SGS Coin Slab's gold foil to ensure you that their slab is sealed for your protection!

Pretty funky looking slab, I 'll admit. I can't understand how they can easily store their slabs with the curved end...doesn't make sense.

I guess I am ready to bring out my industrial stapler, pliers, and cardboard 2X2's and start my own grading service. Any investors??

Yes, I did. I guess anybody can start their own company and sell their own graded products. Certainly saves money on slabbing :D

Sure, Zak. But only if you grade every coin MS70 or PR70 :)

    Coin Grading Services

Where does PCI stand in reliability compared to the top three Grading Services? ie not over rating the coin.

    Thanks,

They are definitely not the other member of the big four!

Yes, but how reliable are they. Has there been any negative feedback?

This turkey should be NARUed. He is representing that the half dollar has a value of $70k, which it does not. For $355, the wining bidder is going to get about $30 or so worth of crap.

Until the ANA/Ebay gets serious and shuts these guys down, Ebay will continue to be a snakepit of scumbags trolling for newbies.

I think he's referring to CoinMovers (the auction at the beginning of this thread) who seems to have started their own grading company.

The seller associated with the auction linked in the original post on this thread.

Is it called the MCCS grading system? From what I see he has been given very high reccomendations with a tremendous amount of feedback.
    High volume!

Many of these people are no doubt newbies buying the hype.

Besides, the auctions are private, and they've rigged it so you can't examine their past items through the feedback history. This to me suggests they have something to hide, and that in and of itself would make me not do business with them, ever.

Do some searches on this forum and read all you can about grading services and buying on Ebay (i.e. evaluating feedback). These topics have been talked about exhaustively on this forum. The knowledge you gain will save you money and anguish should you venture to buy stuff on the 'Bay.

IMO there are basically 5 levels of third party grading companies, from best to worst:

    1. The big four, PCGS, NGC, ANACS, ICG
    2. Some folks would put ANACS and ICG at this level.
    3. No graders qualify for this level.
    4. All but one of the others which accept submissions from the general collecting public.
    5. All the captive TPGs which only grade their owners' coins (almost exclusively MS70/PR70)
    10. The one which must be nameless to avoid getting sued.
